Informal Bio

I’ve been fascinated with the cultures and folklore of the peoples of the world since I was a child. In Italy, were I was born, my parents were both elementary teachers and instilled in me an insatiable curiosity and a great respect for the nations of our planet.

In high school I won a scholarship and spent my senior year as an exchange student in the US. This experience changed my life. Developing my fluency in a foreign language and immersing myself in another culture brought me to un-learn my ways of thinking while learning new ones. I felt I had developed a second soul, and loved it.

I went on to study at Universita’ degli Studi di Milano, alma mater of an Italian prime minister and numerous Italian leaders, and earned the degree of Dottore in Foreign Modern Languages and Cultures. Every literature is the mirror of its culture: I was privileged to master four: Italian, French, English and Spanish. It was during my university years that I discovered my passion for writing and participated and won the Honeywell Futurist Competition with a short story.

After few years as English language coach for Italian executives I went on to work for a prominent consulting firm based in Milan in the HR Training and Development industry. We covered the all array of soft skills training: from Public Speaking to Problem Solving, from Project Management to Leadership Development. When I started to propose Cross Cultural Training the Italian Market was no ready for it, but that was my passion and I was ready to go great length to pursue it.

I moved with my wife to the US, started my own management consulting firm and chose cross cultural training as my niche. My first client? None other than Google!  As a speaker I started to present on intercultural intelligence® at HR conferences and traveled to 11 countries across the world to present my research.

I also love to: cook Italian for charity, photography, and collect books in all the languages of the world.
